Look out for our Surveys of the Professions

Early in 2024, we will be sending out our Surveys of the Professions to veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses respectively.

Veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses will receive links to their respective surveys by email in the first half of January. The surveys are the most comprehensive study of the veterinary professions and are conducted every four to five years in order to provide us with vital information that we will use to inform and formulate policy. Survey results are also used by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, its agencies and other veterinary bodies and stakeholders.

Information from the last survey was used to inform our current strategic plan, including our aim to be a compassionate regulator, ongoing support for Mind Matters, and a focus on the workforce. Crucially, this year’s veterinary and veterinary nurse surveys will be informing the forthcoming RCVS Strategic Plan 2025 – 2029.

While participating in the survey is completely voluntary, it is more important than ever that the voices of veterinary professionals in all parts of the UK, from all backgrounds, of all ages and working in all different disciplines, feed into this research.
