Riding Establishment Training and Induction Course
The Riding Establishment Training and Induction Course runs annually for both veterinary surgeons looking to become a Riding Establishment Inspector and for existing Riding Establishment Inspectors who need to complete their 5-year refresher training.
All inspectors who are due to complete their refresher training in 2024 have been contacted and invited to attend.
New applicants: You will be asked to complete an online webinar series, before attending an in-person training day.
Refreshers: You will be asked to complete an online webinar series, before attending either a remote Q&A session or an in-person training day.
Training dates
Webinar series
The Riding Establishment Inspector Training course is compulsory for all new applicants wishing to join the inspectorate list and those due to refresh their training on a 5-year cycle. The training webinars will be available to view on the RCVS Academy and will need to be completed within 4 weeks.
In 2024, the details for accessing the course will be released on Wednesday 15 May, and the webinars must be completed by Wednesday 12 June.
In-person training
This is compulsory for new applicants. Refreshers can choose whether to attend the in-person training or a remote Q&A session.
Date: Wednesday 19 June
Location: Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Training Centre at Lowlands Farm, Shrewley, Warwickshire, CV35 7AX
Q&A sessions
This is only available to refreshers, if not attending in-person training. The dates for the remote Q&A sessions are:
- Friday 21 June, 9:30am –11:00am
- Friday 12 July, 2:00pm – 3:30pm
