Royal College Day

Royal College Day is a key annual event celebrating excellence and achievement within the veterinary and veterinary nursing professions. Organised by the RCVS, the day brings together professionals, award recipients, and guests to recognise contributions to the field and reflect on the College’s progress over the past year.

The event is held each July and is divided into two main parts: the Annual General Meeting (AGM), where important updates and announcements are shared, and the Awards Ceremony, which honours outstanding individuals and achievements across the profession. Royal College Day provides an opportunity for engagement, recognition, and community within the veterinary sector.

Royal College Day 2027

The next Royal College Day will be held on Friday, 2 July 2027 from One Great George Street, London. Registration will open in Spring 2027.

What is Royal College Day?

Royal College Day is our annual celebration of achievement within the veterinary and veterinary nursing professions.

It is held in July each year and falls into 2 parts: our Annual General Meeting and our Awards Ceremony.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM starts at 11am and is open to all registered veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.

During the AGM we formally declare the names of the candidates newly elected and appointed to RCVS Council and VN Council, and present the Annual Report and Financial Statements for the previous year ended 31 December.

There is also the opportunity for registered veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to ask questions. Questions should be submitted to Deborah Rowlanes, RCVS Events Manager - [email protected]

The minutes from the last AGM are available to download from the 'Related documents' section.

Awards Ceremony

Our Awards Ceremony starts around 1pm, and is open to all, including our award holders, their friends and family, and anyone with an interest in the achievements and advancements within the veterinary professions.
