Letters of good standing
If you wish to register with a Competent Authority in another country you may be asked to provide them with a letter of good standing from the competent authority you are currently registered with.
A letter of good standing confirms that you are or have been a member of the RCVS, that you are not the subject of any RCVS disciplinary enquiries and that there are no disciplinary findings against you.
To request a letter of good standing, please visit the 'My Account' area. You will need to know your login details. Please note there is a fee for requesting a letter of good standing, which is dependent on how urgently you require it.
Once your request and your payment have been received your letter of good standing will be sent directly to the relevant Authority (electronically) and a copy will be emailed to you within 7 working days. If you have paid the additional fee for an urgent request, this will be carried out within 2 working days.
Please note, if you are going to cease practising in the UK, please remember to amend your registration category accordingly.
For more information about a letter of good standing, or amending your registration category, please contact a member of the Registration Department on 020 7202 0707 or by email at registration@rcvs.org.uk.
