Biography

Judy’s career spans over forty years of R&D in global health and animal welfare through a wide range of public and private sector roles. She has held a number of international advisory roles related to animal welfare, strategic planning and funding of research. Throughout her career, Judy has supported a science-led approach to the 3Rs in animal research and passionately believes in the importance of integrating knowledge of human health, animal health and ecosystem health – the concept of One Health. Judy continues to apply her expertise in developing meaningful international policies which deliver economic, scientific and social benefits. She was honored with a CBE in 2004, an honorary doctorate from Glasgow University in 2003 and honorary fellowships from a number of professional bodies. She currently spends much of her time at her home in Texas.
