Outcome
The PIC may give advice to a veterinary surgeon, or any other appropriate decision, when closing a case, ie when deciding not to refer the case to the DC. The PIC may hold open the case for up to two years if the individual concern, although serious, is not sufficient to amount to serious professional misconduct.
