Belinda has been working within veterinary nursing for over thirty years. She has many qualifications in veterinary nursing under her belt. She obtained the Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Surgical) in 2004, then in 2006 she was the first person in England to achieve the prestigious American Veterinary Technician Specialist qualification.

She also became a member of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Education and is a member of the Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

Belinda is currently working as Veterinary Practice Development coach for VetDynamics.  She is also a  freelance veterinary sector specialist advisor for NOCN group.  Prior to this she was using her veterinary skills and knowledge to work within 'One Health' working for NHS Dorset Healthcare University, managing a large vaccination site, where around 1500 Covid-19 vaccines were administered daily.  Previously to this, Belinda was employed as an Interim Nursing Manager for The Vet, based at the Southampton practice.

From November 2016 to July 2020 Belinda was employed as Director for Nursing for CVS Plc, which is a very large corporate veterinary group with practices across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Holland. Belinda was responsible for the strategic development of the whole nursing group with over 3,000 nurses.

Previous to CVS she was employed for 16 years at the Queen Mother Hospital, Royal Veterinary College as Senior Nurse of the Emergency & Critical Care Department and Clinical Educator. Previous to that Belinda gained a wide range of experiences, some of which are locuming (including in Australia), spent two years as a head nurse in a mixed practice, and as a student VN in Dorset.

Belinda is an author of two book chapters in the BSAVA Manual of Advanced Veterinary Nursing and the BSAVA Manual of Practical Veterinary Nursing. She is also a well-renowned national and international speaker on veterinary nursing. 

Belinda chaired the Trailblazer committee for the end point assessment aspect of the SVN apprenticeship. This was successful and is now implemented. She has also been an active member of the VN Futures project since 2017 with the Career progression working group.

At home in Poole in Dorset, Belinda has a husband Phil, daughter Amelia, two cats Doug and Dave and a tortoise Hetty.
