Mrs Anna Hammond MRCVS

Biography

Anna Hammond

Anna graduated from the Royal Dick Veterinary College in 1994 and then completed an interns job at Liphook Equine Hospital before heading "down under". After four years working in equine hospitals in Australia and New Zealand, she returned to the Royal Vet College to complete a residency in equine internal medicine, collecting an RCVS certificate in equine internal medicine on the way. After this time, she worked in first opinion equine practice for many years while raising two children before returning to academia working in Bristol vet school both in the first opinion practice and the referral hospital, completing her second residency in equine internal medicine. Anna was admitted to the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2023 and is director of a first opinion equine practice in Scotland.

Alongside the day job, Anna is an RCVS advanced practitioner in equine medicine, an assessor for the AP status and a Liverpool University Certificate examiner.

Anna is very keen on charity work having been the vet at a World Horse Welfare farm for many years and lecturing abroad for SPANA.

Outside of work Anna enjoys running, bike riding, Munro climbing, and wine.
