Dr Robert Scott McRae MRCVS
Biography
Scott graduated with a BVMS from Glasgow University in 1998, and after a few years in general practice, earned his PhD in 2006 from the same institution. He has been heavily involved in stem cell research in both academic and commercial roles but returned to full time mixed general practice in Aberdeenshire in 2012 acquiring Buchan Veterinary Clinics, which he ran until its acquisition by CVS in 2017. A spell within the corporate world as a clinical director focusing on companion animal practice followed before the opportunity arose to follow an interest in ophthalmology, alongside his wife, with North East Veterinary Ophthalmology with whom he is now pursuing his certificate studies.
In addition, Scott has been involved for the last few years with the RCVS OSCE's as an examiner and maintains a strong interest in advanced reproductive techniques in the agricultural domain, particularly in the field of ovine embryo transfer.
He lives in Aberdeenshire with an ever-increasing menagerie of chickens, cats, cockapoos, and wandering peacocks.
