Ms Susan Ridge CB

Biography

Susan Ridge, the daughter of an estate manager, was brought up in Cheshire where she spent many a weekend chasing escaped livestock or getting up early to do milk recording. So instead, Susan qualified as a solicitor in 1989 working for a small firm in North Wales.

She was commissioned into the Army in 1992, joining what was then the Army Legal Corps and served in Germany, Bosnia and the UK, where she advised on matters of discipline and professional standards, complaints and inquiries, as well as international and operational law. Susan retired from the Army in 2019 as the Director of Army Legal Services in the rank of Major General and made a CB the same year.

Since leaving the Army, Susan has been developing her interest in regulatory work and desperately trying to learn classical guitar.
