Biography

Dr Tiffany Hemming graduated from Glasgow in 1995 and entered mixed practice for a few years. She joined the Army and lived in multiple countries, deploying to Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. She is an expert in medical intelligence and CBRN Defence and worked within healthcare planning and procurement.

On retiring from the Army, Dr Hemming joined the NHS as an Executive Director and worked in an Acute and Community Trust before moving to work for NHSE East of England Regional team as Covid arrived. She led on the Covid vaccination programme for the 7 million population of the region from inception for 20 months. Latterly, she has been working as a management consultant.

Dr Hemming was Trustee and then Chair of the BVA Animal Welfare Foundation from 2007-2016, and a member of the cross-governmental expert panel Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens from 2013-2023 including the Ebola subgroup and the TSE subgroup.

Dr Hemming is board certified in epidemiology with the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine and holds a thesis MSc and PhD in the same subject. She also holds the RCVS Certificate in Animal Welfare Science Ethics and Law as well as multiple qualifications in leadership and management.

Dr Hemming is married with four children, a dog, several chickens and some bees and lives in a house they built in south-west Lincolnshire. She enjoys spending time with her family and they can often be found at campsites across the country.
