Veterinary Nurse Disciplinary Committee
The VN Disciplinary Committee is established under the RCVS Royal Charter. It is a tribunal where charges are heard against a registered veterinary nurse alleging that he or she is guilty of serious professional misconduct (the wording of the Veterinary Nurse Conduct and Discipline Rules 2014 is ‘disgraceful conduct in a professional respect’), or that he or she is unfit to practise because of a criminal conviction. The VN Disciplinary Committee hears evidence on oath or by affirmation.
Each VN Disciplinary Committee shall consist of at least one person from the following categories:
- veterinary surgeons,
- registered veterinary nurses,
- lay persons (not being nor having been veterinary surgeons or veterinary nurses).
