Catherine Hemingway MRCVS, Head of Academy
Catherine graduated from the RVC and initially worked as a first opinion small animal veterinary surgeon. During this time, she developed an interest in supporting student vets and veterinary nurses. She gained the A1 Assessor qualification and Clinical Coach status and then moved into higher education in 2014. Catherine was a programme leader for 10 years, initially overseeing a veterinary nurse programme and subsequently a veterinary nurse top up programme. Catherine has a keen interest in programme design, assessment design and digital education. Catherine holds a CertAVP, is currently studying for a MSc in Digital Education and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE. Catherine is currently working as Head of Academy at the RCVS.
Charlotte Rodia RVN, Digital Learning Content Writer
Charlotte qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2008 at a mixed practice in rural Essex. She gained valuable referral experience at the Royal Veterinary College’s Queen Mother Hospital, later working in other referral centres, a charity clinic, and as a locum for an out-of-hours provider. In 2015, she became a Head Nurse, using her varied experience to lead her team. Charlotte then transitioned into customer service for a veterinary software company before moving into project management and medical writing at a learning and development agency specialising in animal health. Now, as the Digital Learning Content Writer for the RCVS Academy, she combines her passion for nursing and writing to create courses that support veterinary professionals.
