Outcome

The PIC may give advice to a veterinary surgeon, or any other appropriate decision, when closing a case, ie when deciding not to refer the case to the DC.

The PIC may decide to refer the matter to the Charter Case Committee (CCC) where the concerns/conviction present a realistic prospect of amounting to serious professional misconduct, but where it is not considered to be in the public interest to refer the matter to the DC.

The PIC may also consider the health or performance protocols, where it considers that there is a realistic prospect of the concerns/conviction amounting to serious professional misconduct, but that it is not in the public interest to refer the matter to the DC because there are health or performance issues that could better be addressed by those routes.
