What’s coming up at the October RCVS Council meeting?
30 September 2025
On Thursday 2 October, RCVS Council will convene for its October 2025 meeting, with two matters for decision and report in the open session.
These are as follows:
RCVS Operational Plan 2025 - 2027
Following a detailed process involving internal and external collaboration and engagement, Council approved the RCVS Strategic Plan for 2025 to 2029 in March: ‘Stronger together’. Since then, committees and the RCVS Senior Team have been asked to propose workstreams to meet the ambitions of the strategy to form an Operational Plan to run through until the end of 2027. A new plan will be developed in 2026 to run until the end of 2029.
It is proposed that Council will receive a report on how the workstreams are progressing three times a year in the January, June and September Council meetings.
In Thursday’s meeting, Council will be asked to feedback on the proposed workstreams and on the planned reporting framework.
A copy of the draft Operational Plan 2025-2027 is available to view in the Council papers.
Active prevention of sexual harassment
A paper on the active prevention of sexual harassment will also be presented for report. The paper outlines what sexual harassment is and how Council and committee members can play an active role in the prevention of sexual harassment. It also outlines the procedure for receiving and responding to complaints for Council and committee members.
