More than 300 vets removed from the Register for non-payment of fees
5 June 2015
Please note that this article is now archived and the list of veterinary surgeons removed is no longer available to download. The veterinary surgeons listed might have since paid their fees, been restored to the Register and permitted to resume veterinary practice. You are advised to check the RCVS Register to determine the current Register status of any RCVS member.
On 1 June 2015, 372 veterinary surgeons were removed from the Register for non-payment of their annual renewal fee.
The fee was officially due to be paid by 1 April, although payment was accepted up to and including 31 May. Up to five reminders had been sent to veterinary surgeons since February this year.
A list of those who have been removed from the Register has been published and practices are encouraged to check that members of staff do not appear on the list. If they have been removed from the Register it would be illegal for them to carry out any acts of veterinary surgery. Anyone who was taken off the Register on 1 June, but has since been restored, will not appear on the list.
Employers can also use our Check the Register search tool which is updated on a daily basis.
Veterinary surgeons who have been removed from the Register and who wish to apply for restoration should contact our Registration Department on 020 7202 0707 or [email protected]. Please bear in mind that a £299 restoration payment would need to be paid in addition to the outstanding annual renewal fee.
Any veterinary surgeons who have paid their fee but have yet to complete the annual renewal process by confirming their registration details; confirming that they have complied with our requirement on continuing professional development of 105 hours over a three-year period; and declaring any convictions, cautions and/or adverse findings should do so by the end of July. Those who wish to complete their registration should contact our Registration Department.
