Academy update October 2025

As the autumnal days draw in, the RCVS Academy team have been reflecting on our achievements over the summer months and looking ahead to a season of continued growth and learning.
Culture and wellbeing are at the heart of a compassionate veterinary profession. When we support one another, foster civility, and prioritise mental health, we not only strengthen our teams but also enhance the care we provide to patients, clients, and colleagues alike.
This autumn, we’re delighted to have launched two brand-new courses in our culture and wellbeing category:
- Managing mental health in the workplace
- Suicide awareness fundamentals
These courses have been designed to help veterinary professionals build supportive, understanding, and resilient workplace cultures, where everyone can thrive.
The category also features our 'Civility fundamentals' course, exploring the value of workplace civility and the risks of incivility on both colleagues and patient safety. 'Unconscious bias' is another great course, helping us to understand how unconscious bias shapes interactions and how to reduce its impact.
You’ll also find valuable resources from the RCVS Mind Matters Initiative in this category, which is dedicated to supporting the mental health of the veterinary community across all settings and career stages.
In addition to the on-demand learning content, an Academy Live event will also be taking place on Monday 3 November at 1pm - ‘An introduction to managing mental health in the workplace’. This will provide learners with an opportunity to engage directly with subject matter experts and ask questions about the ‘Managing mental health in the workplace’ course.
All Academy Live sessions complement existing and future Academy content, supporting veterinary professionals in meeting their CPD goals. To sign up to the event, visit the dedicated Academy Live booking page.
If you have any questions about any of the courses or the Academy Live event, email [email protected].
