Biography

Sophie graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008, before starting work in mixed practice and then abroad prior to completing a rotating internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Royal Vet College (London). She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2016.

Sophie has built a diverse career spanning general practice, referral medicine, leadership roles and clinical education at the University of Bristol and currently as Honorary Lecturer at University of Surrey. Awarded Fellow of the Higher Education Academy Sophie continues to be actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training, professional development initiatives and clinical care improvement projects.

Sophie is CVS Referrals Intern and Resident Co-ordinator, Early Career Liaison Trustee of the Veterinary Specialist Association and contributes to multi-centre research with a focus on real world impact. She is currently Clinical Director of Vet Oracle Telemedical services, a multidisciplinary teleconsulting team, delivering expert practical, evidence –based advice and peer support to veterinary professionals across the UK and Australia.

Sophie is passionate about early career development, mentoring, professional wellbeing, retention, dissemination of knowledge and advocating for a collaborative veterinary community.
