Biography
Riccardo Finotello graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pisa (Italy) in 2007 and obtained a PhD in Veterinary Science from the same institution in 2011. He completed a residency in Veterinary Oncology at the University of Liverpool (UK) between 2010 and 2013, subsequently serving as Oberarzt (Senior Clinician) in Veterinary Oncology at the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
In 2015, he returned to the University of Liverpool, where he was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2016. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Head of the Small Animal Oncology Service and Director of the Residency Programme.
In 2022, Riccardo was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bari (Italy). In 2023, he joined AniCura Italy as Head of Oncology and Director of the ECVIM-CA Residency Programme at the Portoni Rossi Referral Hospital in Zola Predosa, Bologna.
He is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (Oncology), and a recognised Specialist in Veterinary Oncology (Small Animals) by the RCVS.
Riccardo is the author, PI or co-author of numerous scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
He is an active member of the European Society of Veterinary Oncology (ESVONC) and ECVIM-CA. He currently serves as Chair of the ECVIM-CA Oncology Credentials Committee and as the National Representative for Italy within the EBVS.
