Competition and Markets Authority Implementation Working Group

The Working Group oversees the implementation of RCVS activities required by the CMA. This includes monitoring performance targets, managing budget, and reviewing reports. Additional responsibilities include addressing feedback from the profession and the public, maintaining a Risk Register, and reporting progress to RCVS Council.

Terms of reference

  1. Oversee progress with set up of activities to fulfil the RCVS requirements under the Funding Order and Substantive Order and respective Undertakings (including liaison with the CMA IT Project Board)
  2. Oversee delivery against requirements of the above once up and running, including any performance targets set by the CMA, and reporting required, to ensure compliance 
  3. Oversee actual spend against predicted spend, to ensure that cost recovery is occurring or, if not, relevant steps are being taking to either remediate activities or reclaim/payback funding during the next period
  4. Review reports prepared for the CMA, including financial audit
  5. Take reports about communications activity, feedback from the professions and the public and seeking to address any issues that may arise
  6. Make recommendations to other RCVS governance groups (committees, working groups etc) or the executive, about actions that may need to be taken to address issues arising
  7. Maintain an appropriate Risk Register, including reputation and legal risks, and reporting any significant issues to the Audit and Risk Committee
  8. Make regular reports to Council about progress against targets (time, budget, resourcing)
