RCVS Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
The RCVS Diversity and Inclusion Strategy was informed by insight, guidance and research developed by the Diversity and Inclusion Group.
RCVS Diversity and Inclusion Group
Bringing together members from UK vet schools, the RCVS, sector partners and the veterinary affinity groups (British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society, British Veterinary LGBT+ and British Veterinary Chronic Illness Support, the Diversity and Inclusion Group played a key role in advancing equity, representation and inclusion across the veterinary professions. Although the group has now concluded, its strategy continues to shape our Diversity and Inclusion work.
Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
In 2021, DIG published the 'RCVS Diversity and Inclusion Group Strategy'.
The five-year strategy identified six priority workstreams, which have guided subsequent RCVS activity in this area. These were:
- Widening access
- Improving recruitment and retention
- Supporting education and careers
- Strengthening organisational policies
- Driving positive culture change across the professions
Together, these workstreams provide a proactive framework for improving diversity and inclusion and continue to shape RCVS activity in this area.
