Dr Sarah Caddy is a viral immunologist and Assistant Professor at the Baker Institute for Animal Health, Cornell University, USA. She is board certified in virology by the American College of Veterinary Microbiology.
Sarah graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 2009, and spent two years working in mixed practice and small animal emergency practice across the south and east of England. She then conducted her PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on the epidemiology and molecular biology of canine enteric viruses.
In 2015, Sarah joined the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge for her post-doctoral studies. Her research led to new understanding of how viruses are targeted by antibodies. She was awarded a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Career Development Fellowship in 2018 to begin developing her own independent research programme. Sarah relocated from the UK to New York State in 2022 to continue expanding her research, and she is now faculty at Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine. She leads a lab studying maternal and neonatal anti-viral immunity, with a special interest in vaccination across all species.
