Nic is an Edinburgh graduate and after several years in first opinion practice, undertook a residency at the University of Cambridge, obtaining RCVS and European Diplomas in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2003/4 respectively. After a year as Clinical Radiologist at the University of Zurich, and a period in multi-disciplinary referral hospitals in the UK, Nic set up a freelance imaging company, Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Ltd in 2007.

Nic is committed to veterinary education in the UK and overseas. She has a long association with BSAVA at regional and national level, including the development and delivery of CPD courses in diagnostic imaging. Nic has also served on WSAVA Education Committee, and is currently on the Board of ECVDI. She regularly travels to low-and-middle income countries to provide imaging CPD to students, general practitioners and wildlife vets in under-served regions.
