Anna graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004 with a Distinction in Equine Studies and the Coleman Medal for the equine elective. After a short stint in mixed practice she returned to the RVC for a rotating equine internship, followed by an internal medicine fellowship. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM in 2009, a Diplomate of the ECEIM in 2014, and an RCVS recognised specialist in equine internal medicine in 2016.

Anna worked as an internal medicine specialist in private practice in Ireland and in the UK before joining the Animal Heath Trust to set up and run an equine oncology referral service, becoming the only equine vet to gain a MSc in clinical oncology in 2019 (with Distinction).

Anna joined the University of Cambridge as Director of Clinical Equine Services in 2020, becoming a Teaching Professor in 2022, where she accepts oncology and internal medicine referrals and continues to published widely in the fields of equine internal medicine and oncology.

Anna is passionate about teaching the next generation of equine vets. As well as being the EMS co-ordinator at Cambridge, she has gained post-graduate certificates in teaching and learning in higher education and in medical education and has been an examiner for the ACVIM and ECEIM. Most of all, she hopes to continue to give back to the profession that has given her so many incredible opportunities.
