RCVS strikes gold at Memcom Excellence Awards 2026
On Thursday 24 September 2026, we had a highly successful evening at the Memcom Excellence Awards – winning one award category, gaining highly commended recognition, and placing second for overall excellence.

The Memcom Excellence Awards celebrate the people, organisations and ideas making a real difference across the membership sector – including professional bodies and trade associations as well as learned societies, trade unions, charities, regulators and other membership organisations.
We gained placement in each of our nomination categories after two rounds of judging from impartial experts and professionals from the membership sector.
The College’s achievements included:
- Best Website (winner) – for the College’s new website launched in February 2026, providing improved access to information and services by putting users at the heart of its design.
- Best Inclusion Initiative (highly commended) – for the College’s ‘Let’s talk adjustments campaign’, which aimed to raise awareness of the need for reasonable adjustments, address common myths and misconceptions surrounding them, and highlight the legal obligations of leaders and managers around implementation. This also included the publishing of guidance for veterinary and veterinary nurse education providers, students and staff.
- Grand Prix (second place) – this award is given to the organisation that scores highest across all categories based on judges scores. It cannot be entered for directly and reflects the impact of the work of an organisation as a whole.
Speaking about the College’s achievements, CEO Lizzie Lockett said: “I’m really proud of everything that the entire College team has achieved this past year, in what has been a particularly uncertain, complex and ambiguous time for the sector.
“We have pulled together with both determination and grace, not only keeping things moving forward, but also delivering some really excellent new initiatives too. It’s fantastic to see all this hard work being recognised independently, and I would like to thank our staff for their ongoing commitment to our mission: protecting the public interest, by ensuring animal health and welfare, and public health, are advanced through thriving, world-class veterinary professionals.”
