Throughout the first two weeks of August, Fellows were asked to vote for the election of individuals to two positions – Projects and Engagement Officer, and Chair of the Fellowship Science Advisory Panel.
Professor Anna Meredith OBE FRCVS was successfully elected for her second term as Chair of the Science Advisory Panel, where she will continue to help shape scientific research direction and foster robust clinical debate across the Fellowship. Dr Emma Milne was also successfully elected to continue her role as Projects and Engagement Officer, where she will continue to bring fresh ideas, elevate the collective output of the Fellowship, and broaden communication throughout the veterinary professions.
Speaking on the appointments, Dr Niall Connell FRCVS, Chair of the Fellowship Board, said: “The Fellowship Board is delighted that Professor Anna Meredith and Dr Emma Milne have both been re-elected to their leadership roles.
“Both Anna and Emma have made a terrific impact during their time on the board; having them continue their work promises continuity, fresh momentum, and strong leadership. Congratulations to them both.”
On her appointment, Professor Meredith said: “I'm delighted and honoured to have been re-elected as Chair of the RCVS Fellowship Science Advisory Panel. It has been a privilege to work with such talented and committed Fellowship colleagues over the past term, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue this important work, bringing independent scientific expertise to the challenges facing veterinary medicine.
“My focus will remain on fostering inclusive, evidence-based discussion and ensuring that the Fellowship continues to be a respected and influential voice in shaping the future of the profession.”
Dr Milne said: “I’ve hugely enjoyed my first term as Projects and Engagement Officer and working with the board has been a real privilege. I’m absolutely delighted to be re-elected because there are so many projects I would love to see through. Thank you to all who ticked my box!"
Professor Meredith and Dr Milne will be formally recognised as the ongoing Chair of the Fellowship Science Advisory Panel and Projects and Engagement Officer respectively at RCVS Fellowship Day on Thursday, 26 November 2026 at One Great George Street, Westminster.
Fellowship Day is an annual event that gives current and new Fellows, as well as those who may be interested in joining the Fellowship, an opportunity to network and exchange ideas.
