Last chance to apply for 2026 Fellowship round 

If you're interested in joining the RCVS Fellowship, our learned society that recognises veterinary excellence in different fields, this year, now is your last chance to do so as the application period ends at 5pm on Friday 6 March 2026.

Being admitted to the Fellowship provides recognition for veterinary surgeons whose activities demonstrate excellence across the entire veterinary landscape and who have distinguished themselves on account of their ongoing commitment to using their experience and knowledge to enhance the profession. 

Anyone who would like to be considered for the RCVS Fellowship next year is encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be formally welcomed into the Fellowship at the RCVS Fellowship Day 2026.  

There are three different routes to Fellowship, which are: 

  • Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice –  Recognising advanced or expert-level clinical practice and innovative approaches to veterinary work. 
     
  • Meritorious Contributions to Knowledge – Recognising significant contributions to veterinary knowledge and professional practice.
     
  • Meritorious Contributions to the Profession – Recognising exceptional contributions to advancing the veterinary profession. 

The Fellowship panel assesses applications against the criteria listed below: 

  • Ground-breaking discovery, application of knowledge or development of the veterinary profession
     
  • Sustained contribution to scholarship
     
  • A body of published creative work, for example in political documents, publications, teaching materials or educational documents
     
  • Indisputable advancement of your subject
     
  • Leadership in the veterinary profession
     
  • Advancement of public understanding of the profession
