International Postgraduate Veterinary Education Symposium 2027
Join us on 26 and 27 April 2027 for a two-day International Postgraduate Veterinary Education (PGVE) symposium.
Following on from the highly successful inaugural symposium held in November 2025, this event will continue to develop the work of its international community of practice dedicated to leading, engaging in, reporting, and sharing high-quality postgraduate veterinary educational scholarship, research, and innovation.
Who should attend?
The symposium is a truly international event and all those with an interest in advancing veterinary postgraduate education are invited to contribute. We particularly welcome those who are actively involved in education and training development for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses from graduation, through to postgraduate study, specialty training and continuing professional development.
Symposium programme and exhibitors
The symposium will be based around four overarching topics, each representing the possible stages within a veterinary professional’s career where education and training may play an important role.
These are:
- Graduate transition into the profession
- Advanced education and training (post graduate qualifications, internships, and residencies)
- Continuing education and professional development
- Licensure and revalidation
The programme will feature a number of inspiring presentations delivered by international educational leaders from both veterinary and the health professions.
The event is split across two days taking place from Monday 26 to Tuesday 27 April 2027 at One Great George Street, London. There will be an opportunity to network throughout the event.
*Please note event timings and programme content to follow shortly, information is subject to change.

Delegate participation
Delegates are invited to present across the four overarching topics. More information on this, and how to submit an abstract, can be found below.
Delegates are warmly encouraged to contribute to the PGVE Symposium. It's an excellent opportunity to showcase their own educational research and scholarship, creative approaches, fresh thinking and practical solutions to an engaged audience of international veterinary educators, practitioners, researchers and other professionals.
We welcome proposals from individuals with educational expertise in areas relevant to the symposium's four key themes.
Important: all contributors must be registered to attend the symposium.
We are inviting three types of contributions:
- Abstracts: Submit an abstract of your work in postgraduate veterinary education for the opportunity to deliver a ten-minute presentation, followed by audience questions. Please complete and return the abstract form in the related documents area below.
- New ideas: We are also hosting a session dedicated to 'Ideas and Innovations'. Delegates are invited to present new ideas related to postgraduate education in a concise five-minute slot, followed by audience discussion. Please complete and return the new ideas form in the related documents area below.
- Poster presentations: Poster presentations are also welcome.
