Biography

Alison graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and has worked in a variety of veterinary roles across independent, charity and corporate practice. She spent four years as a full-time locum veterinary surgeon and continues to undertake clinical work alongside her current leadership and educational roles. She holds the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Veterinary Dermatology).

Alison is currently Veterinary Development Programs Senior Manager for Mars Veterinary Health Europe, leading initiatives focused on undergraduate engagement, graduate development and veterinary career pathways across Europe. Prior to this, she was Graduate Development Programme Manager for Linnaeus, where she oversaw graduate support and development across the UK and Ireland.

She has been closely involved with the RCVS VetGDP since its introduction, contributing to the RCVS Graduate Outcomes Working Group and serving on the VetGDP Subcommittee. She is currently a RCVS VetGDP Adviser and Peer Reviewer.

Alison has a particular interest in veterinary education, professional development and supporting veterinary teams throughout their careers. She is a regular speaker at veterinary conferences, universities and professional events on topics including graduate support, career development, wellbeing, veterinary education and dermatology.

Alison is a director of Veterinary Voices, a professional community that facilitates discussion on matters affecting the veterinary profession and supports the communication of evidence-based veterinary information to the public.

Alison lives in the Scottish Borders with her partner, two dogs, a cat and a horse. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, photography and exploring the Scottish countryside.
