Mr Christopher Shepherd BVM&S MRCVS
Biography
Chris qualified as a vet from Edinburgh University in 2009 having first obtained a degree in veterinary science and a master’s degree in veterinary infectious disease control for the University of Liverpool.
He worked initially in large animal mixed practice before moving to equine work, primarily in first opinion but also referral work in a large hospital. He developed a particular interest in lameness and performance work and gained qualifications in foot assessment and trimming.
Chris also worked in Western Australia, experiencing the very different challenges of practice internationally. He now works in first opinion small animal practice and is pursuing his interest in the legal aspects of veterinary practice and animal welfare by undertaking a master’s in law at the University of Brighton.
Outside work Chris has ridden horses and competed in carriage driving with varying degrees of success. When not working he can now mostly be found walking his two dogs.
