Séverine graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 1994 and worked for the PDSA before moving to Edinburgh to complete a residency in Feline Medicine.
She obtained her RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 1999, and then moved back to Bristol to complete a three-year PhD investigating feline haemoplasma infections.
Séverine joined the academic staff at Bristol Veterinary School in 2002 as a Lecturer, eventually becoming Professor in Feline Medicine in 2016. She became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2003.
At Bristol, Séverine was heavily involved in teaching, clinical services and research (particularly haemoplasmas and feline coronaviruses). She was awarded over £2.7M in grant income during her academic career. She has supervised many postgraduate (PhD, MSc) and undergraduate research students and is currently Honorary Professor of Feline Medicine in Bristol where she continues to research and teach.
In 2018 Séverine joined the Linnaeus Group, part of Mars Petcare, as its Chief Medical Officer. Séverine provides clinical leadership and oversees quality, education and research in the group. Séverine co-edited the BSAVA Manual of Feline Practice: a Foundation Manual, and has written many textbook chapters. She has authored over 140 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Séverine is an RCVS Specialist in Feline Medicine.
