Recognised specialties and titles

RCVS Specialist titles fall into three broad groups:

  • Production Animal Medicine
  • Companion and Competitive Animals
  • Disciplines

Specialist titles are listed under one of these headings. In some areas, sub-specialities fall below the specialist title. Sub- specialities indicate that the holder is a specialist only in that restricted field. If you’re a specialist in one of these fields, you must show the sub-specialities in brackets after the main title of the speciality.

You can only be listed in one area, even if the fields are related. You can change your area of listing following the re-application process.
