Biography

Andy has specialised in canine and feline orthopaedics for over 20 years. He has spent most of this time in private referral practice but has also held positions at the University of Bristol Veterinary School and the Royal Veterinary College. He is widely respected as an orthopaedic surgeon and researcher and has been invited to lecture to other veterinary surgeons in the United States, Asia and Europe. Andy has authored over 50 clinical papers on a wide-range of conditions. In 2017 Andy was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, for meritorious contributions to clinical practice. Andy is Vice-Chair of the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association.

Andy is highly experienced in all aspects of canine and feline orthopaedics, but he has specific interests in:

Canine and feline hip replacement
Cruciate ligament rupture in dogs (TPLO surgery)
Diagnosis and management of elbow dysplasia
Fracture management
Humeral intracondylar fissure (IOHC) in spaniels
