RCVS Academy beats the clock with new time management course

We are pleased to announce the launch of the RCVS Academy's new ‘Time management’ course within our 'Career Support' category on the platform. 

This course provides veterinary professionals with practical strategies to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands and work more sustainably in busy veterinary workplaces. 

Suitable for all roles, it offers tools and techniques to help learners balance clinical, leadership and administrative responsibilities, while supporting wellbeing and professional development.

Alongside developing new courses, we have also been reviewing and updating existing content to ensure it reflects current guidance, professional standards and learner feedback, as maintaining the quality and relevance of our courses is a priority. 

Recently, we have updated:

• VN External Examiner course – New interactive sections featuring real-world scenarios to help learners practise decision-making skills and consider their own personal contexts, as well as expanded content on sampling strategies.
   
• VetGDP graduate induction course – New interactive features added to ensure the course remains engaging and relevant to new veterinary graduates as they transition into the workplace.

These updates form part of our ongoing course reviews, ensuring that Academy courses remain current, accurate and aligned with the evolving needs of the professions.

We are also working on several new courses, which will be launching later this year:

• SVN: Stepping into practice – Designed to support student veterinary nurses in clinical practice, helping to ease the transition and build confidence.
   
• Supporting veterinary professionals acting as witnesses in Disciplinary Committee hearings – This course will help witnesses understand what to expect at each stage of the process and to reassure them about their role in providing clear and accurate information to assist the Disciplinary Committee.
   
• Welcoming returners – A course aimed at supporting veterinary professionals welcoming those returning to clinical practice after a period away, complementing our existing 'Vet return' and 'Nurse return' courses.
   
• Welcoming overseas nurses – Complementing our existing course for overseas veterinary surgeons, this new course will support veterinary nurses joining the UK veterinary workforce from overseas and help practices create inclusive, supportive environments.
