Supporting Clinical Supervisors with preparing for student assessments.
This Academy live session will focus on preparing students for assessments. During the course of a student’s qualification, Clinical Supervisors will often assist students with preparing for assessments. This session will equip you with practical tools and strategies to provide effective, targeted support in this area.
While assessment requirements vary between colleges and universities, this session will offer a holistic overview of approaches you can use to prepare your student for all types of assessments.
Who this is for
This Academy Live session is aimed at Clinical Supervisors and those considering becoming a Clinical Supervisor.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Identify the various types of assessments students may undertake and describe the role of Clinical Supervisors in supporting their preparation
- Employ practical methods to assist students in successfully preparing for different assessments
- Recognise common challenges students face when preparing for assessments and provide structured, targeted support to enhance their confidence and competence
Session speaker
Jasmine Curtis RVN, Sophie Geake RVN, and Tori Thornton RVN
Jasmine, Sophie and Tori are key members of the VN team at the RCVS, serving as Qualification Assessors. Collectively, they bring 48 years of experience as RVNs, with backgrounds in both small animal and equine practice. Prior to joining the RCVS, they have all worked in veterinary practice and education. Their primary responsibility is to uphold and maintain the standards of veterinary nursing education.
