Completing your annual renewal

What you need to do

All veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses must annually:

  • Confirm Register and correspondence details
  • Declare any convictions
  • Pay an annual renewal fee

We aim to send out your annual renewal notice to you at least 3 weeks before your annual renewal is due. If we do not have an email address for you, then we will post your annual renewal notice to your correspondence address.

Key dates

  Vets VNs
When to expect your renewal notice by email Early March Early October
Deadline for completing annual renewal 1 April 1 November
Date when non-payers are removed from the Register 1 June

1 January

How to complete your annual renewal and pay your fee

Please complete your annual renewal online. In ‘My Account’, you will be asked to enter your username and password (a username reminder is included in your renewal notice).

If you need any help, please view our Frequently Asked Questions or contact the Registration Department on 020 7202 0707.

Please note: even if your employer is paying your renewal fee, or you have set up a Direct Debit, you will still need to confirm your Register and correspondence details, declare any convictions and confirm your CPD compliance.

What happens if I don't pay my fee?

If you're a vet, please note that if you pay your fee after 30 April the amount increases by £35.

If your fees are not received in full by 1 June for vets or 1 January for VNs, then your name will be removed from the Register. Should you, at any point, need to restore your name to the Register, you will need to pay a restoration fee, in addition to your annual renewal fee.
