RCVS Trust declares support for ‘All Trials’ campaign
The RCVS Charitable Trust has declared its support for the ‘All Trials’ campaign’s aims. These are for all clinical trials, past and present, to be publicly registered, and for the full methods and the results to be openly reported.

RCVS calls for a Private Members’ Bill to protect VN title
We have written to the MPs drawn in today’s private members’ Bill ballot to call upon them to introduce legislation to protect the title ‘veterinary nurse’ and introduce an effective regulatory system that would ensure that those veterinary nurses found guilty of serious professional misconduct were prevented from carrying out medical treatment to or surgery on animals.

Disciplinary Committee strikes off Wiltshire vet
The Disciplinary Committee of the RCVS last week [3 May] struck off the Register a veterinary surgeon for charges relating to tuberculin (TB) testing on cattle that he undertook and certified at four farms during June and July of 2010.

RCVS and VN Councils elections results
The results are now in for the 2013 RCVS and VN Councils elections – and the turnout among vets is the highest seen in ten years. 4,661 veterinary surgeons voted, surpassing the previous highpoint of 4,232 in 2010. This year’s VN Council election saw the highest ever number of veterinary nurses voting (1,329).
