New Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing Framework
A modular style framework for the Diploma, leading to awards in either small animal or equine nursing, or veterinary nursing education, has now been introduced.

Dip AVN Course Providers
- Myerscough College (in conjunction with the University of Central Lancashire) is approved to offer the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing.
- Harper Adams College is approved to offer the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing.
- The Royal Veterinary College (in conjunction with the University of London) is accredited to deliver some modules of the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing.
Most fees are due to the course provider, so please inquire with them about their latest rates.
Once you register with the RCVS as an Advanced Diploma student, which should normally be after you have completed at least one module, there will be an indexing fee of £54 annually.
At the end of the course there will be a fee payable to the RCVS for the final assessment.
If you have completed your entire course thorough one course provider then the fee is £145 (in 2012).
If you have done modules with several different course providers then the RCVS directly administers your final assessment, which cost £440 (in 2012).

‘Old’ Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing Framework
The last set of examinations under the original Diploma framework took place across late 2009 and early 2010. Four candidates passed the examinations leading to the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Surgical). There were no candidates this year for the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Medical).
