Biography

Eleanor FergusonEleanor qualified as a Solicitor in Scotland in 1981, and in England and Wales in 1987. During the first part of her career she focused on litigation, then spent a number of years advising on investment and commercial projects in Asia and Egypt.

In July 2004, she joined the RCVS to develop and launch the Practice Standards Scheme, and has headed up the Scheme ever since.

She subsequently took on the role of Disciplinary Solicitor and then progressed to become Head of the Professional Conduct Department, overseeing the management of the College’s concerns process. In 2016 she was appointed Registrar.
