Chris Proudman
MA VetMB CertEO PhD FRCVS
Biography
Currently the Foundation Head of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey, Chris has over twenty years of experience of veterinary clinical education and equine gastroenterology research. He leads the team that developed a novel model of veterinary clinical education based upon workplace-based learning in partner practices. The school was successful in achieving RCVS accreditation in 2019. Formerly an RCVS-recognised specialist in equine gastroenterology, he has extensive clinical experience of the diagnosis and surgical management of equine colic. His current research uses ‘omics technologies to better understand the equine intestinal microbiome in health and disease.
