Karen Braithwaite



After completing her PhD, Karen joined British Gas Research, where she undertook a number of roles as a research geologist, later moving to work in more general management. She then worked as a business analyst, sales operations manager, business planning manager, and director of innovation and strategy, gaining her MBA in corporate entrepreneurship in 2005.

She joined the new Nottingham Veterinary School to project manage the establishment of the School in May 2005. Since the opening of the School in 2006 her role has been to develop strategy and operationalise tactics related to the ongoing development of the School.

Her role encompasses operational functions from student admissions through to financial and facilities management, managing a team of administrative and technical staff and undertaking a range of other diverse activities, including teaching (finance, business, entrepreneurship, beekeeping, personality types), acting as admissions sub-dean and research (personality types).
