Ewan Cameron
BVMS PhD MRCVS
Biography
Ewan Cameron is the Head of School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow.
He was initially appointed lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Glasgow in 1991 following completion of his PhD. Since that time he has been involved in teaching, mainly, but not exclusively, in the area of farm animal health.
His major research interest has been in cancer, and since 1996 Ewan has been Co-Director of the Molecular Oncology Laboratory and programme grant holder with the Leukaemia Research Fund (now Leukaemia Lymphoma Research) and Cancer Research UK.
The main focus of the research effort has been in childhood leukaemia but with more recent interests in breast and other epithelial cancers.
From 2000 to 2004 he was Head of the Graduate School and from 2004-2010 Deputy Dean for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Glasgow. Ewan was appointed Professor of Molecular and Cellular Oncology in 2004.
