Biography

Elaine AcasterInitially qualifying as a dietician, and then after working in the NHS, Elaine joined the education sector, lecturing in Glasgow prior to Head of Department roles in Harrow and Bedfordshire. During a period of rapid expansion in Further and Higher Education, Elaine was Deputy Principal of Westminster College (London).

On joining the Royal Veterinary College in 2002 as Assistant Principal, Elaine successfully led the College's academic support and development functions.

She added the role of Secretary to Council to her responsibilities from 2005, and in 2012 was appointed as the first female Vice Principal of the Royal Veterinary College. Since retiring from that role and that of Chairman of Trustees of the RVC's Animal Care Trust, Elaine continues her relationship with the Further and Higher Education sectors.
