Richard StephensonBiography

Richard Stephenson graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1987 and worked in first mixed and then exclusively equine practice in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

He is the senior clinical director of a 19-vet equine practice.

Richard has obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Radiology (1991) and the Certificate in Equine Practice (2001). He was subsequently appointed as an RCVS examiner in Equine Practice and a member of the Equine Subject Board.

His interest in farriery led him to become a veterinary examiner for the Worship Company of Farriers and a member of their examinations executive group.

He has published a number of peer-reviewed articles on equine matters ranging from pre-purchase examinations to remedial farriery, and regularly contributes to the lay press in magazines such as Horse and Hound.
