Cheryl Scudamore
BVSc PhD FHEA FRCPath FRCVS
Biography
Cheryl graduated from Liverpool University in 1988 and after completing a PhD at the Rowett Research Institute she worked in the pathology department at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, before moving to the pharmaceutical industry. During this time she worked as a pathologist but also gained management qualifications and managed a large technical team, before returning again to an academic role at Royal Veterinary College and MRC Harwell.
She has particular interests in transferring technical skills between industry and academia, ensuring the welfare of experimental animals and encouraging vets to explore alternative career options.
She is an RCVS recognised specialist in Veterinary Pathology and is currently the Director of Anatomic Pathology for Abbey Veterinary Services/NationWide Laboratories.
Cheryl has extensive experience of serving professional committees. She has chaired the Royal College of Pathologists specialty advisory committee for veterinary pathology and is currently on the RCVS Fellowship Credentials Panel.
In her spare time she keeps bees, runs and enjoys watersports.
