Review of Schedule 3
This consultation has now closed.
We are currently undertaking a review of Schedule 3 and have asked the Institute for Employment Studies (IES) to carry out a survey of all registered veterinary nurses (RVNs), student veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons.
We are particularly interested in:
- The work RVNs and student veterinary nurses do now
- The work RVNs and student veterinary nurses would like to do
- Your views about the future of the profession
Background
The future of the veterinary profession contains some uncertainties, particularly with regard to the impact on the workforce of the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, the development of new technologies, and the increasing trend for veterinary surgeons to specialise.
There is also an increasing focus worldwide on the role of allied professionals and the veterinary team as a whole, suggesting that it might be beneficial to strengthen and bolster the role of the veterinary nurse, particularly with regard to more ‘routine’ veterinary work.
The survey
All UK-practising veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses should have received individual email links to this survey, but if you have not (and cannot find it in your spam folder) then please contact the Dilys Robinson, Survey Manager at IES, at dilys.robinson@employment-studies.co.uk.
We should be grateful if you would find time to complete the survey (which should take no longer than 10 minutes) by 5pm on Wednesday, 7 June 2017.
Any questions?
If you have any questions about why we are running the survey, or how we will use the results, please email Ben Myring, Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer, at b.myring@rcvs.org.uk.
