Change to NVQ Accreditation Numbers

21 August 2002

The Veterinary Nursing NVQs at levels 2 and 3 have been awarded a new 4 year term of accreditation which came into effect from the 1st August 2002.

As a result, the awards have been allocated new accreditation numbers and these are as follows:

Previously As from 1st August 2002
NVQ Level 2 Q1028804 100/2377/X

NVQ Level 3
Q1028805 100/2378/1

This change will affect candidates in the following way (please see erratum below):

  1. All candidates enrolled on or after 1 June 2002 will be registered under the new accreditation number and will be sent copies of the revised portfolio (Edn 3) and syllabus in due course.

  2. Candidates certificated at level 2 on or after 1 August 2002 will be registered for level 3 under the new accreditation number. These candidates may use either the Edn 2 or Edn 3 portfolio; both editions will enable candidates to meet the 2002 Occupational Standards at level 3.

  3. Candidates enrolled on or after 1 June 2002, or certificated at level 2 on or after 1 August 2002 i.e those whose first attempt at the level 2 or 3 examination falls during or after July 2002, will receive level 2 and/or level 3 NVQ certificates showing the "100" number.

  4. Candidates registered for the re-accredited veterinary nursing awards (1 - 3 above) must be assessed using the 2002 Veterinary Nursing Occupational Standards. These are available to download from this website and will be provided in the revised syllabus document.

  5. Candidates enrolled before 1 June 2002, or who were certificated at level 2 before 1 August 2002, will receive level 2 and 3 NVQ certificates showing the "Q" accreditation number.
