Details

The Fellows Science Advisory Panel are hosting a series of online discussions looking at the different aspects of Quality of Life.

The welfare and emotional impact of clinical decisions

We have invited Steve Howard, Dr Alexander Hill, Dr Tanya Stephens and Hamish Morrin to discuss the causes of moral injury (which can be described as experiences which conflict with the ethical and moral code of the individual) to veterinary professionals as a result of clinical decisions and outcomes, including the impact of client budget and euthanasia.

The panellists will each present their own views, and will then take any questions from the audience. Questions can either be submitted beforehand or in the chat box on the evening.

This discussion is open to any veterinary professionals including all vets, vet nurses, practice staff, students and veterinary representative groups.

Questions?

If you have any questions about the discussion please email Amymay Youngs, Advancement of the Professions Officer; [email protected]

Please note that during these sessions, the panel members will be expressing their opinions and sometimes sharing experiences, some of which may be upsetting. We encourage you to speak with your employer or contact the RCVS, should you have any concerns regarding your welfare or that of your colleagues or animals, or have any ethical concerns.
