Born into a Somerset farming family, Richard qualified from the University of Bristol in July 1984.
Since then he has worked at Highcroft Vet Group based in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas. The practice was originally a traditional mixed practice but now is totally small animal. The group consists of veterinary hospital, various branches and a referral service employing 220 persons.
These days Richard is mainly involved in the running of the group. He was a PSS assessor for seven years and a member of the review group for three years.
He is also a member of BVA and a SPVS Councillor.
Richard lives in Bristol with his wife Tracey. He has a very spoilt border terrier and loves all sport (either watching or participating) but especially swimming, skiing and sailing.
