Malcolm qualified from Cambridge in 1983, and spent three years in mixed work before moving to North Yorkshire to join a small 100% equine practice. The business has now grown to a five vet small animal and equine practice, which he runs with his wife Joyce.
He gained a Certificate in Equine Practice in 1988, and his clinical work is entirely equine. He has a particular interest in ophthalmology.
They have two grown up children, neither of whom have followed their parents into veterinary work. When not working, he is an enthusiastic, though desperately unsuccessful, salmon fisherman.
Having seen the benefits to his own business of joining the PSS scheme, he hopes to assist other practices in achieving the same positive outcomes.
